The Battle Challenge is owned by On•Target Challenge (OTC), joining the Marine Corps Super Squad Challenge, the Army Ranger Challenge, the World SWAT Challenge, and the LEOPARD (Law Enforcement Officer Performance And Reaction Drill), among others. Best-known of OTC's sport competitions is the internationally renowned Firefighter Combat Challenge - as seen on ESPN, major TV networks and their local affiliates over the past 29 years.
The purpose for the Battle Challenge is the assessment of combat-related physical capacity in a military cohort. The sequentially performed tasks are based upon a comprehensive job-task analysis (JTA) of military personnel conducted by Dr. Paul Davis and his team across four theaters of operation.
